Perseverance and Your Influence

A very personal tip on the value of perseverance as the door to the impossible in your personal technique and your eventual artistic influence in the world.

When I started to play guitar, we often looked at jazz and classical pianists and wondered at their fluency as being out of our reach to the guitar...and it was, for the most part.
30 years have gone by and yesterday marked the second time this year, that a professional jazz pianist has openly stated to me that he was being influenced in his fast phrasing by my jazz guitar playing.
I am writing this to encourage all of you who also love the guitar, to persevere. You will find that the impossible can happen if you do your part with great love and great devotion. That is all you have to do."
