AVA and Curtis singers advance to Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions semi finals in New York City
Congratulation to bass-baritone Musa Ngqunqwana (AVA), tenor Billy Davenport (AVA) and bass-baritone Brandon Cedel (Curtis) on advancing to semi-final round of Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions competition.
Some of the past competition winners between the premier Philadelphia schools include Elliott Madore (Curtis), Margaret Mezzacappa (AVA), Michelle Johnson (AVA), Angela Meade (AVA) and Michael Fabiano (AVA).
Brandon Cedel joins Angela Meade and Michael Fabiano in "Lombardi" with OONY on Arpil 8 at the Avery Fisher Hall and tenor Billy Davenport will appear in AVA's production of "Un ballo in maschera".
Those in Philadelphia area can still catch bass-baritone Musa Ngqunqwana as Zaretsky and Gremin in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin". Final two performances are January 19 and 22, 2013 at AVA.
