Ghena, re: referrals in your post, I was reminded of a great Harvard Business Review piece called "The One Number You Need to Grow," by Frederick F. Reichheld. The author found in his research that the greatest predictor of business growth for companies that surveyed their customers was whether the customers answered "yes" to the question, "Would you refer the business to people you know?"
